Creative minds making valuable impact for future lives
Wasa Innovation Center brings people together, offers inspiring workspaces and event venues, hosts impactful public events, and enables collaboration that delivers real outcomes. Founded in 2019, WIC is a one-of-a-kind innovation hub built on net-zero principles. At its heart is a striking wooden landmark building, located in the historic Bock’s area in Vaasa, just over two kilometres from the city centre.

Beneath the surface WIC is a collaborative for more than 200 specialists working across technology, health, education, culture, infrastructure, and logistics. Our shared ambition is simple but bold: to improve how both public and private sectors perform and create value for society. We also publish WIC Science Channel and curate exhibitions that leave a lasting impression.
The expanded part of the center currently features Hall of Fame exhibition that highlights innovations created by regional industry leaders—companies that account for approximately 75% of the region’s total public and private economic flows. Next to it, the Hall of Energy offers an immersive experience into the vital societal role of energy, from everyday life to global transformation.

Wasa Innovation Center community is a driving force for development in Ostrobothnia. When we see a problem, we bring together the right people to solve it. We reduce bureaucracy, amplify impact, and challenge established structures by activating people rather than systems.
